Combine Details:
Ready for an immersion into the next level of volleyball training?! Our combine is where you get seen by coaches and team managers and set up foundational skill trainings with international coaches and national team players. We have guest speakers and live courses to help you optimize your life and professional skills on and off the court! All while networking with international players & coaches and getting to know international destinations.
Who Should Apply:
Talented athletes who aspire to play as student-athletes in the USA/CAN (usually between 16 and 24 years old). Applications are accepted, and participation is usually by invitation only.
Eligibility: Current college-enrolled athletes and graduated NCAA players can gain valuable tools for their last college season or pick up last-minute jobs depending on the time of the year and whether or not they are NCAA eligible. Check with compliance, but you do not get paid or sign representation agreements. This is strictly a training, recruitment, and educational experience.
What Happens at the Combines?
Testing & Skill Breakdown Sessions:
Morning sessions include measuring verticals, foot and lateral/sprint speeds, 1 rep max, visual/cognitive skills, etc.
Educational instruction on volleyball skills at the level of professional coaches and national teams.
Competitive Training & Match Sessions:
Evening practice sessions and scrimmages to apply new techniques, recorded or live-streamed for further analysis.
Focus on performance and team systems.
Guidance/Education Sessions:
Covering foundational health, emotional, social, physical & mental health tools.
Q&A sessions with local pros and international mentors.
Cultural Experience:
Opportunities to explore the cities, experiencing local food, sights, and entertainment.

Exposure to International Coaches: Showcase your skills to coaches through live streams and recorded sessions.
Skill Enhancement: Strengthen key skills for any volleyball position.
Educational Resources: Access to professional coaching and educational sessions about becoming a successful athlete.
Recruitment Opportunities: Eligible athletes can be scouted by teams attending the combine or through live streams.
Location and Dates:
Favorite Locations: Split, Croatia; Belgrade, Serbia; various cities in Germany.
Dates/Duration: Usually between April and August for 7-10 days.
Transportation and Accommodation:
Transportation Included: Transportation for all participants by bus, van, or taxi is included.
Accommodation: Includes lodging, basic testing, strength & conditioning foundational coaching, and warm meals as specified.
Special Housing: Special housing requests can be made at an additional cost.
Cost and Payment:
Non-NCAA Athletes (represented or not): €850 (€450 if played 2 full seasons pro)
NCAA still eligible players: €750
Payments:
Deposits of 25% must be made upon confirmation of a spot unless within 60 days of the event.
50% payment is due 45 days before the event.
100% payment is due 30 days before the event.
Refunds:
50% up until 45 days before the event start date.
30% up until 31 days before the event start date.
No refunds within 30 days of the event start date.
COVID-19 Refunds:
50% if the athlete fails to travel due to a NEG COVID test result within 72 hours of the combine start date.
Main Benefits for Athletes:
Video of All Testing & Matches: Athletes will receive videos of all testing and matches.
Live Stream Links: Some training sessions and matches will be live-streamed.
Educational Sessions: Sessions powered by BeyondAthletic.com covering physical, emotional, and mental habits and skills. Coaches include Berit Kauffeldt (GER), Gregor Sobocan (SLO), Pavle Gavrilovic (SRB), and others who have worked with Olympians.
Mentor Sessions: Attend valuable Get2Know/QnA sessions with high-level athletes still in the game or veterans like Anja Spasojevic (SRB), Therese Crawford (USA), Mia Jerkov (CRO), Ryan Jay Owens (USA), and others.
International Exposure: Opportunities for additional scrimmages with teams in surrounding countries.

Florian Völker
German Jr National team assistant + Sr national team volunteer since 4 years.
He also coached at the German National youth center of VCO Berlin which works with only National Team pipeline youth. Florian won the championship in the 2. League in Germany with his current club, VC Printus Offenburg in 2018 and 2019 and works especially with young players to develop them for a career as a pro player. Before his coaching career he played 5 years professional as a setter in Germany‘s top division. During his time as a pro player he worked in off-season with international beach-volleyball teams on FIVB world tour
2018 Staff Highlights:
Alessandro LODI (Modena, Italy Native)
Currently working in Japan's top men’s league, has over 20 years of experience at every level, having coached juniors, college and professional teams in 8 countries, including Italy, Poland, USA and the women’s national team of Finland. He had the opportunity to be mentored by legendary Carl McGown and to work with and learn from some of the world’s best coaches (such as Karch Kiraly - Hall of Famer & Team USA head coach, Jim McLaughlin - Washington Huskies NCAA D1, Hugh McCutcheon Minnesota D1 NCAA and former Team USA head coach, et al.), while also studying the mental aspects of the game thoroughly in order to help his players. “Alessandro Lodi is an excellent teacher in both the technical and mental aspects of volleyball and I hope that many other players will continue to benefit from his coaching” says two-time Olympic medalist Courtney Thompson. We’re thrilled that Alessandro has happily agreed to put his knowledge at the disposal of all June camp participants and for video sessions during our April camp!Local Serbian Coaches too!

Superliga team finished 8th out of 10 in 1st year in Superliga & 1/4 Finals Serbian CupCoach: Ivan STELJIC (Serbia)
Born: 31st of January, 1981. 2016- Current Head coach OK Partizan where first the 1st time in history the club participated in the Superliga (after receiving an unanticipated wildcard to play with a team built for the 2nd league). They were ranked with a very inexperienced team as high as finished 8 of 10 and made the 1/4 Finals of the Cup! Former head coach of a U16 Serbian National women team (2015-2016) where he took the team to two silver medals in international championships for the Balkans in Turkey/Bulgaria. Former assistant of two cup winning teams with OK Vizura who were then and are current champions of Serbia's Superliga. As well as Serbian U15 champions (2015). He finished his second Masters as a volleyball coach from the Faculty for Sport – University Union Nicola Tesla in Belgrade.
